Ask me why i am talking about a wedding ? right now? cos my uncle is about to get married pretty soon!! * claps,hugs, kisses* I totally agree that someone's wedding in the house is an OMG thing for even the guy who picks up garbage from around the street corner. so the plot - guy :34, in the US , bloody well educated( 6 degrees or something) , attractive, chamthu iyer paiyyan! girl : 27 something, well educated, highly independent, settled in the US as well AND apparently according to the women in the family " She is so much like you(me) and your sister)!!" god!! anyway ..
you cant help their states of mind ( guessing that is right usage) so what do you do? Smile , grin and say 'Ah ok thats nice' and continue to work .. but NOPE!! 'come and help us do this' ' can you think of a good kalyana mandapam( yeah right! i got married in every one of them! ) or the worst ' what do you think about the girl ( GOOGLY!! What the hell? i am 19 and that woman
( respectfully) is 28 .. what can I THINK of her? good nice cool!)
But believe me this is the best one ' i asked the swamiji about your future( a hand 'lovingly' runs over your head) and he said i should get you married off by 21-22 cos apparently ' time seri ille!!' are you kidding me??? i fainted at the thought of it !!!
I sincerely pray to god that my uncle gets married ASAP cos i cant afford to go through these rituals of ponnu-paathufying, okaying, selecting, blahing etc!!!
